The Stages, the Seasons and the Life-Cycle of Man’s LifeReviews"In The Tyranny of Identity Professor Patrick Pietroni once again demonstrates he is always the scholar, always the professor, always the teacher, and always the intellectual guide. In this most readable and understandable work he guides the reader through his own search for identity and helps the reader to understand the most human of questions, ""What is the current state of the world, and what is my role within that world?"" The work is brilliant, immensely readable, insightful, and reflective for both the author and the reader. Dr. Pietroni is one of the world’s leading compassion scholars and he demonstrates his compassion for others as well as for himself. John-Robert Curtin, Ph.D., professor, author, and poet. Professor Pietroni’s reflections on his experience of ‘otherness’ are shared with honesty and vulnerability, revealing a multi-faceted identity, and an enriched personal, professional, and cultural life. This book is a much-needed call for compassion and humanity in our troubled world. Dr Kathryn Waddington, Emerita Fellow in Psychology, University of Westminster, UK. ""This highly personal and deeply empathetic exploration of the inner self is an essential guide to how one makes sense of the world and one's place in it. Full of wisdom and compassion, Pietroni's unique insights will be of valuable use to practitioners and professionals across the wellbeing world."" Stephen Wilkinson, Senior Lecturer in Politics and International Relations, Chair of the University Assessment, Learning and Teaching Committee, Director of the International Institute for the Study of Cuba, School of Economics and International Studies."
