She moved to Israel in April of 1972 after she got married. In 1999, she returned to university and studied English literature. She then received her second master's degree in creative writing from Bar Ilan University. Her collection of short stories, Dropped from Heaven, was published by Schocken Books, Random House in 2007. Her novel, Victory Tea Estate, was published by Palimpsest Publishers, India, in 2017. Sophie resides in Israel with her husband, her five children, and eight grandchildren.
