He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal with Valor, the Purple Heart, the Navy Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Navy Achievement Medal (five awards), and the Combat Action Ribbon (two awards). After being severely wounded in Iraq, Redman returned to active duty before retiring in 2013.
