Overview

The Trial (German: Der Process) is a novel by Franz Kafka about a character named Josef K., who stirs one morning and, for reasons never uncovered, is captured and indicted for an undefined wrongdoing. As indicated by Kafka's companion Max Brod, the creator never completed the novel and wrote in his will that it was to be obliterated. After his passing, Brod conflicted with Kafka's desires and altered.
