OverviewThe pseudonymous Cleidophorus Mystagogus wrote a number of alchemical books. One of these Mercury′s Caducean Rod has already been published in this series. The meaning of this name is 'The key bearer or teacher giving instruction in mystical doctrines.' It is thought that these writing were the work of William Yworth (-1715) an Anglo-Dutch distiller, alchemist, and physician well known for his influential book The Compleat distiller 1705. The work on the Three Fires of the Sophi is uncompomisingly alchemical, exploring the subject primarily with an allegorical perspective. He writes, however, in a clear and straightforward manner.
