OverviewThe Thinking Person's Big Bathroom Book is unlike any other bathroom book that has come before it. It is an erudite, thought-provoking collection of real, paraphrased, and imagined quotations attributed to some of history's most famous (and infamous) public figures and cultural icons. As a scholar of world history who came of age during the rapid social and technological change of post-WWII America, Dr. Elliott masterfully weaves together hundreds of historical references with some of his own personal recollections, crafting a compelling narrative infused with witty wordplay and subtle social commentary. From philosophical ideas concerning the origins of the universe across human cultures-to religion, war, politics, pop culture, and everything in between-this bathroom book will inspire readers to explore in greater depth the social and historical contexts surrounding the events alluded to by these enduring quotations and clever one-liners. Of course, before you go and do that...don't forget to wash your hands!
