Author Information

Eleanor Marie Ingram, born in 1886, was an American author best known for her novel The Thing from the Lake. She was a writer during the early 20th century, and her work often delved into themes of mystery, the supernatural, and the psychological. Her most notable work, The Thing from the Lake, was initially serialized in the magazine Everybody's before being published in book form in 1921. Though her writing career was brief, Ingram's contributions to the supernatural genre earned her recognition. She died on March 22, 1921, at the young age of 35. Her work continues to be appreciated for its eerie atmospheres and exploration of the unknown. Born to parents whose identities remain less known, Ingram s impact on the genre is still noted, despite her early death. Her writing style and approach to blending mystery and the supernatural in a hauntingly engaging manner resonate with readers even today.
