Overview

After losing her mother, Claire moves in with her Aunt Emily and her Aunt Joy hoping for a fresh start. But her new school is anything but welcoming. Bullied on her very first day, Claire endures cruel torment from three of her classmates who not only mock her but destroy the last gift her mother ever gave her, a special outfit that she cherished. Angry and powerless, Claire stumbles upon something unexpected in her aunts' attic; an ancient looking spell book filled with strange incantations. One spell in particular catches her eye, a spell to create a golem using sticks, mud, and clay she finds in the nearby woods. Fueled by her desire for revenge, Claire crafts a creature and names its Mr. Styx, after the sticks that held the golem together and the legendary River Styx. Claire finds Mr. Styx to be the perfect instrument for her revenge and tries to use Mr. Styx to scare the girls that bullied her but... fails miserably! But to Claire's horror, Mr. Styx appears to have plans of his own that go beyond scaring the bullies and turns his wrath on anyone that gets in his bath. Now Claire must find a way to stop the monster that she created and unleashed before its too late, and before The Terrible Tale of Mr. Styx becomes a nightmare that no one can escape!
