Overview""Our wellness program has purchased over one hundred copies of her book for a reason: it's an excellent resource for any teacher who wants to not just survive, but stay well in the work they love."" - Michael LeBlanc, Counsellor, New Brunswick Teacher Counselling & Wellness Program ""This book felt like a quiet, reassuring conversation with a friend at exactly the right moment. ...I finished it feeling both comforted and hopeful, with ideas I'm genuinely excited to carry into my daily life and work."" - Kailyn Fullerton, Ed.D., Educational consultant, Meditation Teacher Certified EQ Assessor ""Her reminders about the importance of self-care, healthy boundaries, and recognizing burnout early are just as meaningful outside the classroom as they are within it. This is a thoughtful and practical resource for anyone in a helping profession who wants to support others while also making room for their own well-being."" - Heather Donnelly, Career and Engagement Advisor, King's College, Canada Self-care has gone mainstream, but there's still a lot of work to do! Teaching is one of the most stressful professions, with high rates of burn-out. And yet the burden of self-care still falls on teachers! Patrice Palmer, teacher, trainer, and writer, shows you how to reduce stress and build resilience by deconstructing the mindsets and habits that lead to sacrificing mental health for the job! Clearly and thoughtfully written, Palmer gives you the awareness and tools you need to do away with the guilt! And she should know. She's been through teacher burnout and come out the other side. The book also features: Activities to help you find your strengths Exercises to share with your students Advice for administrators to support teachers Tips for online teachers Book-club discussion questions ""Patrice blends research, real-world experience, and practical strategies to help educators combat burnout and rediscover how to balance their professional and personal lives. This is a must-read for any educator committed to thriving, not just surviving, in today's schools and classrooms."" - Cassandra Washington, Wellness Advocate, Educator and Retired Principal, Author of Teach and Take Time for You: Strategies and Tips to Reduce Stress and Burnout ""Rather than offering superficial tips, she invites educators into reflection through self-assessment tools that prompt meaningful shifts in habits, mindset, and daily practice. Grounded in positive psychology, the book draws on the work of Martin Seligman-particularly his concept of flourishing-and Kristin Neff's research on self-compassion. This grounding helps teachers reframe self-care not as indulgence, but as a professional responsibility tied to sustainability and effectiveness."" - Theresa Meikle, Retired Secondary School Vice-Principal, Author & Mindfulness Facilitator ""This book should be in every staff room! It's engaging, easy to follow, and incredibly practical. The exercises and activities make it simple for teachers to integrate into their daily routines, while still supporting meaningful emotional growth. I especially appreciated the blend of mindset tools and actionable strategies. It's such a valuable resource that can make a real difference in both the classroom and the mental well-being of teachers."" - Victoria Petch, Positive Psychology Educator Full Product DetailsAuthor: Patrice PalmerPublisher: Alphabet Publishing Imprint: Alphabet Publishing Edition: 2nd ed.
