The Tatiana File

Overview

Everyone likes a good story and this is a fast, romantic and furious one. Set in 1949, the action ranges from a hot Orange Free State veld to a wintry Ireland and back again, with unexpected twists and turns along the way. A startling discovery linked to Tatiana, one of Tsar Nicholas II's assassinated daughters, sets a weary white Bloemfontein detective on a perilous odyssey of discovery.

Reviews

'William Paterson's insight and discernment equip him to draw in his experience into his new novel, which is lively and erudite, fast-moving and filled with high adventure and pathos. The Tatiana File will make its mark in the steadily growing bookshelf of Irish-South African literature.' Donal P. McCracken FLS, FRHistS, Emeritus Professor of History: University of KwaZulu-Natal

Author Information

William Paterson, a journalist and author, was born of Scottish-Cornish parentage in Durban and grew up with his sister in an old colonial clifftop house, surrounded by virgin bush, with views of the Umgeni River and the Indian Ocean. He was educated at Michaelhouse, then the Durban School of Art in Natal and the University of Westminster, London. Upon his return to South Africa he spent most of his working life in the media. He is now settled with his Irish wife Patricia in Co Wexford, Ireland, where he continues to write.
