The Tao of Prayer: Looking East to See the Rest

Overview

If Spirituality is who we are within, then Religion is how we express and grow into it. Here we look together at different stories of where our different paths started, where they all lead, and the ways we follow them. We hear from the sages of ancient Egypt, India, China, and beyond, and step into stories from their lives and others', both old and recent. René Descartes once ended a letter he had written by apologising for having written such a long one. He said he had not had the time to write a shorter one. On my writing monitor is an old fortune cookie slip which says, ""Everything should be made as simple as possible... but not simpler."" For all the time spent reading to write this book, more has gone into keeping it as short, and as simple, as possible. My advance readers seem to agree that I have been able to do this, with enough layers of meaning to invite repeat readings. As one said, ""A light read, but fully loaded!"" I hope you'll think so, too!

Reviews

Marvelous! Very Thought provoking, in a peaceful way. Makes one re-evaluate how they approach another, and learn more about others' journeys through life. (Barbra Dameron, Lancaster, PA, USA) Wow !!!!, I have just finished reading The Tao of Prayer...wow !!!! I found it easy to read, and ..like an onion with so many different layers to the contents . It would take several readings and each time something different could be gained from it. (Gaynor Johnson, Birkenhead, UK) You have a way of expressing yourself that reminds me a little of Jack Kerouac (on the road) Very readable and intriguing. I can relate to your journey and I think others will too. I just like your writing and I think it must take a bit of courage to present your thoughts, knowing some will misunderstand it. I think your auto-biographical approach is very good, You have lived an interesting life and you present yourself very honestly and clearly., (Greg Gault, Wenatchee, WA, USA)
