Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Ella... Ella lived in English Hollow, a quaint village of rolling green hills, cheerily chirping birds, and friendly old oak trees just perfect for a little girl to climb. To many, English Hollow was a place fit for the front of a postcard. Yet, for little Ella, this happy village was clouded by sadness: Her parents many arguments. While Ella knew all grown-ups sometimes had disagreements, her mother and father seemed constantly at odds. Her home echoed with their angry shouting, making Ella feel confused, out of place, and forgotten. Luckily, Ella always knew where to go when she was sad: to her beloved Grandpa. A gentle soul with a heart for storytelling, whenever Ella's house became too loud or her parents' words too unkind, Grandpa would take her on his lap and tell her fantastic tales. Tales of adventure, magic, and-Ella's favorite of all-Billybedoggonebagby, the three-legged creature who lived in the English woods. To Ella, Billybedoggonebagby wasn't merely an enchanting tale. Like Ella, Billybedoggonebagby felt out of place too-mocked for his differences and longing for real friends. Grandpa's stories of Billybedoggonebagby offered Ella a mirror to her own world, making her feel far less alone. Grandpa always said, ""Even in the darkest of times, there's a ray of hope, a beacon of light."" For Ella, that light is about to shine in the most unexpected way.
