Author Information

Christopher Andrew is professor of modern and contemporary history and chair of the History Department at Cambridge University, a former visiting professor of national security at Harvard, a frequent guest lecturer at other US universities and a regular host of BBC radio and TV programs. His books--which include Her Majesty's Secret Service; KGB: The Inside Story (with Oleg Gordievsky); and For the President's Eyes Only--have established him as one of the world's leading authorities on intelligence history. Vasili Nikitich (1922-2004) was a Major and senior archivist for the Soviet Union's foreign intelligence service, the First Chief Directorate of the KGB, and coauthor of The Mitrokhin Archive: The KGB in Europe and the West, a massive account of Soviet intelligence operations based on copies of material from the archive. The second volume, The Mitrokhin Archive II: The KGB in the World, was published in 2005, soon after Mitrokhin's death. Charles Stransky has appeared on and off-Broadway as well as in regional theatres throughout the United States. On film, he can be seen in The Spanish Prisoner, Homicide, Things Change, Anger Management, and Pastime. His countless television appearances include Ed, Third Watch, Newhart, Murphy Brown, Frank's Place, My Sister Sam, and All My Children. Charles audiobook credits include Ed McBain's Fiddlers, Loren D. Estleman's Poison Blonde, and Matthew Brzezinski's Red Moon Rising.
