Author Information

Paul Bacon, PhD is a tenured Professor of International Relations at the Faculty of International Research and Education, and a Jean Monnet Chair in European Union Studies at Waseda University, Japan. His research interests include the SDGs, human security, EU–Japan relations, NATO-Japan relations, Brexit, liberal international order, and human rights norm diffusion. Mina Chiba, PhD is an Assistant Professor of Organization for Regional and Inter-regional Studies (ORIS), Waseda University. Her major field of study is international development and human rights. Her research interests include global governance in education and health, non-cognitive skills development, and regionalization of higher education. Frederik Ponjaert is Researcher and Lecturer at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and Associate Lecturer in Comparative Regionalism at SciencesPo (IEP-Paris). His research is on comparative regionalism, with an emphasis on European and Asian realities.
