She has served as a physical therapist, youth leader, foster parent, and community volunteer. Kristi has traveled internationally as a therapist to Kazakhstan, China, Brazil, and Romania, ultimately adopting her son from Romania. This adoption story led to her first book, The Child Who Listens, written with the prompting of her son, whom she met while volunteering at his orphanage.
