OverviewThe Sun Sets Over Waltham is a collection of poetry that deals with the period of a year and a half that tested the author's patience, sanity, and endurance. It is the first of a three-volume set dealing with this time period. This volume closes with a short story which gives a taste of what one can expect in volume two. Volume two is a collection of tales, called Hope St and Other Short Stories, that gives a glimpse into the madness taking place in the author's mind and soul. The third volume, entitled Reckless, is a memoir written with excruciating detail. While at times comical, it shines a spotlight on what happens when an artist's life runs off the rails. Collectively to be known as The Waltham Papers, the three volumes serve as a reminder as to how easily a life can descend into chaos. Brian Shovelton is an author, poet, singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, actor, pro wrestler, agent of chaos, and connoisseur of fried chicken and eggrolls. He currently resides in Waltham, MA with his fiancé and the growing multitude of voices in his head. The Sun Sets Over Waltham is his sixth book.
