Overview

""...timely plot considers a future America fighting for freedom amidst sociopolitical upheaval."" - Booklife Prize by Publishers Weekly In the gripping tradition of James Patterson's Blowback-comes a political and military thriller set in the not-too-distant future-a plot packed with one roundhouse after another with ties back to today's headlines. In 2061, the United States teeters on the brink of a second Civil War-in a nation where political tensions have reached a breaking point. Newly elected President Devin Cyrus, driven by his vision for a Socialist Utopia under his New Way agenda, is determined to crush the resistance of renegade states where secession is brewing. Aiding Cyrus are hardcore New Way supporters like DeShawn King, founder of the 1619 Brigade, who seeks vengeance for the injustices of the past. Opposing the New Way, Oklahoma Governor Mary Whitfield stands as a beacon of liberty, stoking patriotic fervor and rallying patriots to defend the Constitutional Republic in a remnant of the Union from the encroaching control that threatens them. Caught In the middle is Bishop Jackson King, a moderate torn by conflicting loyalties to his son and his duty as a soldier in the Illinois National Guard. The Sum of All Our Anger: Civil War 2.0 is a powerful action-packed political and military thriller that explores the chilling realities of a second Civil War. Will the ideals of liberty and justice embodied in the Constitution survive, or will the New Way Forward prevail? Buy your copy today and discover which side prevails!

Reviews

""The Sum of All Our Anger by William R. Douglas plunges readers into the throes of a politically charged future America, where the nation teeters on the brink of another civil war. Set in 2061, this thriller imagines a country divided between the Old Way and the New Way, with each side fervently believing in the righteousness of its cause. ""The newly elected President Devin Cyrus has a vision to establish a Socialist utopia, regardless of the cost. On the other hand, Oklahoma Governor Mary Whitfield emerges as a stalwart defender of traditional American values, willing to lead her followers into secession if it means preserving the Old Way. ""The Sum of All Our Anger is particularly compelling because it humanizes the conflict through its characters. DeShawn King, the fiery founder of the 1619 Brigade, embodies the anger and desire for retribution that fuels the New Way. Yet, his father, Bishop Jackson King, represents the moderates caught in the crossfire, making the stakes feel personal and relatable. ""The storyline is so relatable today as William R. Douglas doesn't shy away from exploring the complexities of such a polarized nation at the end of the book. The concept of a utopian nation being exaggerated into a dystopian future is central to the storyline. ""For readers who enjoy thrillers with a heavy dose of political intrigue and moral dilemmas, The Sum of All Our Anger is a thought-provoking read that will leave you questioning the very fabric of modern society. I highly recommend this book."" - Review by Carol Thompson of Readers' Favorite Review Rating: 5 Stars
