Reviews

""Working with Jennifer Golden made a huge difference in my ability to communicate effectively as Founder and CEO of YETI. The tips and strategies I learned from Jennifer became so invaluable to me that I hired her to work with one of my daughters as well. I only wish I’d found Jennifer decades ago, when I was learning to read and write in school. For Jennifer’s expertise to now be widely accessible through her textbook—what a gift. It is a must-read for anyone navigating dyslexia or interested in Orton Gillingham."" Roy Seiders, Founder and CEO of YETI ""As a friend, colleague, and fellow reading interventionist, I’ve had the privilege of watching the heart and expertise behind this book take shape. What you’ll find in these pages is not theory for theory’s sake—it’s practical, compassionate, and deeply impactful guidance that changes lives. I’ve seen firsthand how a perfectly timed intervention, delivered with the right tools, can alter the course of a student’s entire academic journey. Struggling readers don’t just catch up; they rediscover confidence, join their peers without penalty, and begin to thrive both academically and socially. That kind of transformation is nothing short of life changing, and this book shows you exactly how to make it happen. What makes this work so powerful is its timelessness. It’s not about chasing trends—it’s about understanding how the brain learns to read and giving every child the chance to succeed. This book is one I will keep close at hand, not only for my own teaching but also to share with families and colleagues who want the very best for their students. I’m proud to stand behind this book because I know the author, I know the heart behind the work, and I know the difference it will make. Christina Nestory, M. Ed., CDS, OG-T, C-SLDS, Reading & Dyslexia Specialist, Orton-Gillingham Teacher, Structured Literacy / Dyslexia Specialist ""Jennifer Golden is the quintessential Orton Gillingham Professional. Over the years she has been an amazing teacher, tutor and friend. She teaches the typical rules of Orton Gillingham, yet adds many different tips and tricks of her own to aid in the reading and spelling process. She makes learning fun and engaging while driving home the difficult rules and regulations associated with the studying of reading and writing. This book is a must have for anyone who struggles with the complexity of the English Language or is teaching those the English Language."" Kym Unanue, Happy Client and Friend ""Jennifer Goldon has been nothing short of a blessing in our lives. With her deep knowledge of the Orton–Gillingham approach, she not only meets learning needs with structure and expertise but also does so with warmth and kindness that make students feel safe, understood, and capable. She is patient when challenges arise, encouraging when confidence wavers, and steadfast in her belief that every child can succeed. For us, she has been a true lifesaver—transforming frustration into progress, and struggle into hope. Jennifer doesn’t just teach; she changes lives.” Meredith Feins, Ph.D., Happy Client and Friend ""Jenn is simply amazing. I’ve been working with her since third grade and I am now a Sophomore in college. She has supported my success every step of the way. We truly make the perfect team. No matter what subject we have studied, she is always an incredible help. She has also become a great friend!"" Will Feins, Happy Student and Friend ""Jennifer Golden is a passionate, engaging, and creative reading specialist and teacher who has a gift for reaching children of all ages and abilities. She makes learning to read joyful and accessible, sparking curiosity and confidence in every child. Her dedication is unwavering—she never gives up on a student and always finds ways to connect, encourage, and inspire. As someone who has been lucky enough to watch her work her magic first hand, I can honestly say that her knowledge and passion for reading are contagious and make even the most apprehensive of readers want to succeed!"" Stephanie Alboum, Colleague/Middle School Teacher ""Jennifer Golden’s methods of instruction gave our son confidence in his ability to read, write and comprehend. She is gifted in addressing the needs of the whole child by collaborating with grade level teams, parents and the student. She motivates students to learn and together they celebrate success. My son Joe, now in college, said to me the other night as we were talking about her that, “Ms. Golden was a stand out among all of the teachers he has ever had. She always spent time with me to make sure that I could really understand each lesson. I always knew she truly cared about me and still does.”"" Diane Donovan - Klingler and son Joe Klingler, Happy Parent and Student ""I started working for Jennifer in September 2020. Throughout the years I have enjoyed learning and collaborating with her. Jennifer always takes the time to talk about students’ success and share her knowledge to brainstorm creative ideas to meet the needs of every student that comes her way! Jennifer has a great knowledge of Orton Gillingham and is always willing to share lessons and resources with her colleagues. She has made an immense impact on so many students and I am so happy to be part of her team."" Keri Maher, Orton-Gillingham Teacher, Special Education Teacher ""Years ago Jenn Golden taught me the power of the word YET! She teachers her students and her friends to add the word Yet at the end of sentence…It is not I don’t understand, it is I don’t understand it YET. So…Jenn Golden had never written a book…yet. Now she has achieved this milestone, showing the power of “Yet” in action. Having struggled in school herself, she understands that learning isn’t one - size-fits-all. She teaches students to embrace challenges, set goals and keep going, even when they haven’t mastered something…yet. For years, Jenn has provided strategies to teachers and parents to help students develop not just reading skills, but confidence in their ability to learn. This book brings the Golden Rules of Reading to a wider audience, making fluent reading attainable for many who thought it wasn’t possible…yet.” Devony Wilmot
