Author Information

Dr Mircea Radulian is a senior researcher at the National Institute for Earth Physics (NIEP), Măgurele, Romania and member of the Romanian Academy. He is Associate Professor at the Doctoral School of Physics, University of Bucharest (Faculty of Physics). He is involved in numerous committees, and scientific programmes at national and international level. Dr Constantin Ionescu is senior researcher at the National Institute for Earth Physics, Măgurele, Romania. At present he is the general manager of the National Institute for Earth Physics (NIEP) (since 2011). As a recognition of professional prestige, note the numerous awards obtained at international competitions and the Romanian Academy award for the earthquake Early Warning system in 2005. Dr Andrei Bala is a senior research geophysicist, holds a PhD in Physics at the Faculty of Physics, University of Bucharest and has worked at NIEP for 45 years. His current research interests are microzonation and in situ seismic measurements in Bucharest City and the metropolitan area, earthquake mechanisms and tectonic models in Romania.
