The Strawberry Fair: Adventure, Danger, and a Surprise Gift

Overview

In the second Shane Woods Series book, ""The Strawberry Fair,"" Dr. Tom Latham takes readers on a hopeful journey through Linn County, Oregon. Shane Woods, a grieving teen, works to rebuild his life alongside his siblings, Kosy and Thomas, surrounded by their grandparents' steadfast love. As Shane faces adolescent heartaches, he clings to faith, finds friendship, and discovers inner strength. From daring escapes to dangerous criminals, Shane's journey is filled with action, humor, and emotion. He forms deep bonds with friends, including spirited Erin Lynch and proud Nez Perce Native American Bowie Pinetree. Together, they face challenges, unravel mysteries, and find healing through faith, forgiveness, and resilience. Shane and Kosy cling to each other and their grandparents, forging strength out of their mother's neglect. Shane fiercely protects Kosy and turns to faith for solace after accepting Christ. That faith becomes lifeblood, a steady, guiding hope. He finds encouragement and purpose in wrestling lessons with his friend and wrestling teacher, Marty. The honest work of the fields and close bonds with friends offer Shane and Kosy moments of peace in an otherwise uncertain world. Shane and Erin visit the lively Strawberry Fair in Lebanon, Oregon. With friends, they eagerly anticipate the sweet burst of strawberry shortcake, are thrilled by colorful exhibits, and feel their hearts race at the thought of carnival rides like the octopus and rock-o-plane. Erin hopes for laughter and carefree fun, but instead, an anxious excitement grows as mischievous clowns and the Snow Peak robbers disrupt their plans. This story warmly celebrates redemption, the unbreakable bonds of family, and abiding faith. The book welcomes readers who seek adventure, touching stories that tug at the heart, and laughter. ""The Strawberry Fair"" both entertains and uplifts, leaving readers inspired.
