Overview

Dawnie is a little girl who loves to play happily by herself with the many toys with her three playmates who visit her every day. They are imaginary to everyone except her. When she goes to sleep at night, she wakes up next to Dog, and they go on an adventure with Ning and Boss. A child's imagination is a wonderful thing, and it must be encouraged. Children become the Captain of their Pirate ship, the hero of their adventure, handsome, beautiful, brilliant, and strong. They conquer the world and do anything and everything! The lucky ones never lose that childhood wonder on the bumpy road to adulthood. This is the story of a young girl who never lost that childhood wonder. Tonight, little Dawnie yearns to see her friends and go on another adventure, but where to go? When her Daddy reads her a bedtime story about a Zoo, she can't wait to tell her friends where she wants to go! The minute she closes her eyes, she opens them in Dog's Digs by the river, the only problem is that the Zoo in the book Daddy read to her is not real. Dog to the rescue! Come along with us, close your eyes, and ""think"" Zoo. Let's meet and talk to Harold, the Hippo, Ella, the elephant, Orchid the Orca Whale, and her children. In their next adventure, Dawnie excitedly tells her friends about the fun rides and games that her Daddy had read from the book about an amusement park! This time, they ""think"" of going to the amusement park, and voila, they are there! The Trio is surprised at the rides and games. Mr. Shirl joined them and became their tour guide. They tried the ring toss over the milk bottles, breaking balloons with darts, riding on the Ferris wheel, and the merry-go-round! Mr. Shirl took them to the Big Top for a private performance! Shaundour, the Lion Tamer, trilled and scared them with his performing lions, but that didn't compare to all four riding on the lion's backs and brushing them. Are you ready for more adventures with Little Dawnie and her friends? Look for Sleep Travelers Books 3 and 4 coming soon!

Author Information

Writing Science Fiction gives my mind wings and allows me to fly away into the unknown, and sometimes create weird people and places. One does not have to be a scientist and delve into the inner workings of Space Ships to write about the people that command them. It is a good thing because I am no scientist, nor do I want to be. What makes writing fun is turning the implausible it believable, funny, and sexy; creating worlds and races of people that change the normal into the unknown.
