Overview

This title documents the donation of the Stafford Collection of Inuit Sculpture to the Winnipeg Art Gallery. Published to coincide with a major donation to the Winnipeg Art Gallery, this catalogue features the collection of Robert and Marlene Stafford. The Stafford collection is strong in sculptures from the 1980s to the 2000s with works created in the later years of their careers by established artists such as Osuitok Ipeelee, Aqjangajuk Shaa, Kiugak Ashoona, Nuna Parr and Abraham Anghik Ruben. Some which are considered signature works for the artists. The Collection also includes work by younger artists such as Tukiki Manomie, Adla Ashevak, Joseph Suqslak, and Toonoo Sharky, as well as earlier pieces from the 1960s and 1970s by deceased artists such as Karoo Ashevak, John Tiktak, John Pangnark, and Vital Makpaaq.
