Author Information

Dexter Ingram started his national security career as a Naval Flight Officer before entering the high-stakes world of counterterrorism strategy. His State Department experience includes serving as the Director of the Office of Countering Violent Extremism, Acting Director for the Office of the Special Envoy to Defeat ISIS, and Deputy Director for the Office of Preventing WMD Terrorism.Ingram's field experience spans multiple continents-from coordinating counterterrorism efforts at INTERPOL headquarters in Lyon, France; to leading U.S. interagency delegations to Asia and Africa focusing on nuclear proliferation deterrence; to serving as Senior Political Advisor in Afghanistan's volatile Helmand Province., as well as playing key liaison roles with both the FBI and DHS.An avid collector of intelligence history artifacts, Ingram has assembled one of the most impressive private spy collections outside government archives. He currently serves on the boards of the International Spy Museum, Real Spy Comics, and the National Counterterrorism Innovation, Technology, and Education Center (NCITE).In 2023, Ingram founded IN Network, a nonprofit dedicated to mentoring promising young minds of all backgrounds interested in careers in national security (in-network.org).
