Author Information

Zohra Boutaraa holds a PhD in Civil Engineering. Following ten years of experience as a senior engineer, she joined Hassiba Ben Bouali University of Chlef, Algeria, in 2014, where she is now an associate professor. She is the author of numerous scientific articles on civil engineering structures and seismic risk. In 2018, she published a book on the historical 1980 El Asnam seismic event and the vulnerability of buildings in Algeria. Pursuing her interest in architecture, particularly the influence of Islamic architecture on European and American styles, she began studying English literature and civilization in 2019. In 2024, she obtained a Master's degree, devoting herself to an in-depth study of American architecture. This led her to write this book on the presence of Islamic architecture in the United States, representing a link between her area of expertise, her academic research, and her passion for architecture.
