Overview

""The Song of Solomon"" (also known as the ""Song of Songs"") features beautiful verses of love that offer an allegory of the relationship between God and the Children of Israel - exquisite poetry that is full of tenderness and humanity. ""The Psalms"", perhaps the most popular book of the ""Old Testament"", includes hymns of praise and thanksgiving, profound meditations and moving laments that have inspired mystics of various faiths to sublime spiritual experiences. They have also proven themselves to be a timeless source of solace, inspiration and courage to people throughout the ages. The rolling quality of the prose of the King James translation does great justice to the poetic forms of the original version in Hebrew.
