OverviewIt can be hard as a drummer to find a unique way to make yourself stand out. That's just what this book is for! The Sly Hat focuses on using the sound of the closing hi-hat in fills and drum grooves. This technique allows a sound that is one of a kind, and helps you not only stand out as a drummer, but also splits up the work between your limbs, and creates an opportunity to play more complicated patterns while preserving your musicality. Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationTaylor Friesth is a Colorado Native who discovered his passion for drums at the young age of eight when he tried playing a family friend's 360 Pearl drum kit. He has been teaching since age 13, and is constantly striving to find the most effective way to teach each individual student. He has been contributing to the Colorado music scene since he was in 5th grade, which led him to play in front of 30,000 at CU Boulder's Folsom Field. Having been taught by nearly every drum teacher in the area, he has been in search of expanding his range of comfort ever since he began playing. In college, he studied at McNally Smith College of music under the instruction of Gordy Knudson, the Steve Miller Band drummer. He also was a member of the percussion ensemble Rise Percussion as they competed at WGI World Championships in Dayton, Ohio. Taylor's musical diversity, which ranges from latin, to marching percussion, to rock, gives him a very unique approach to the drum set. Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
