Overview

Author Information

Arzoo Faiz was born in Kabul, Afghanistan. Her family migrated to Pakistan with her when she was a baby and they remained there for five years before getting a visa to permanently relocate to Australia. She earned her Bachelor of Laws from the University of NSW, completed her postgraduate studies in law and was admitted as a lawyer in 2008. She also has attained Bachelor of Social Sciences degree majoring in criminology from Charles Sturt University. Arzoo practised as a family law solicitor in private practice in Sydney for a short period before entering the field of domestic and family violence prevention. She now works in a child protection team. Arzoo currently lives with her 16-year-old daughter, 12-year-old son and husband in Sydney. She is very passionate about helping survivors of domestic, family and sexual violence. She has devoted most of her working life to this and continues to do so.
