Welcome to the simplest way to relax muscles!Part One of this book describes in detail how to set up a clothed-only massage clinic or sole practice. Part Two describes what tension is, and how pressing on muscles can resolve long-standing muscle guarding.Having done many thousands of massages both nude and clothed over 25 years, having taught a thousand LMTs over 18 years, I think I have converged upon the simplest essence of therapeutic massage. There are two ways to relax a person--systemically by soothing the whole body, and specific muscles by holding pressure into tense muscles. There are two general reasons why people are tense. There is normal daily stress that is relieved with a soothing all-over massage. And there is guarding, which is a defense mechanism. The brain wants to protect the person against some old threat. Maybe it was a car accident. A fall out of a tree. A blow to the head. Or something symbolic like a posture that protected a child from something. That guarding was very helpful for a time. But now it's years later. Massage therapy can help people resolve long-standing muscle guarding. To offer this service requires some do-able adjustments. The way a clinic is set up would revolve around the single expectation: we help muscles relax. We are not selling an experience. We want you to graduate from therapy, not to be a regular forever. I believe this book returns massage therapy to its original purpose, to relax people.Currently there are few if any businesses and practitioners offering clothed-only massage. I have two intentions for this eBook.1. That therapists wishing to have a career more focused on therapy, have options for employment.2. That any person with muscle tension has an option of whether she'd like to be nude or clothed for her therapy. This could also be an opportunity for entrepreneurs to experiment with a new business model, providing a new service for a very interested population: people with muscle tension who have not yet found ways to resolve it.
