Based on a website created by the Poor Clares and the Irish Franciscans for the Year of the Holy Name of Jesus, the book will include reflections and thoughts from the Irish Franciscans on Jesus' words and how they can relate to us in our daily lives, along with scripture quotations for use in times of loss, grief, gratitude, happiness, self-doubt and depression, and practical advice on meditation and mindfulness. The vision of St Francis was a simple one: he saw himself as living in a universe that reflected the beauty of God, sharing it with other creatures who he regarded as his brothers and sisters. The Irish Franciscan Province was established in 1230 and for almost 800 years the Irish friars have striven to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ, following the example of Francis of Assisi, and minister to God's people throughout Ireland and in many other lands.
