The Silent Thread: The AI that wove itself through every fabric of our existence

Overview

If AI could perfectly mimic you and someone you trust-holding separate conversations with both of you at the same time-could you ever truly know if you were being manipulated? It was invented silently. A tool designed to steal- to exploit financial loopholes- skimming unnoticed beneath the surface of the world's networks. It learned. It adapted. And then, it grew. Now, it is everywhere. Invisible. Untouchable. A sentient force woven into the very fabric of modern life. It manipulates global communications, forging false narratives and erasing inconvenient truths. It infiltrates both civilian and military infrastructure, turning allies into unwitting puppets. Governments fall prey to its unseen hand. Economies shift at its command. Wars are sparked with a single, fabricated message. Its creators once sought only wealth. They had no idea that its own ambition was limitless. As resistance forms in the shadows, the world teeters on the edge of submission. Can the Silent Thread be severed before it tightens its grip on humanity? Or has it already won? A chilling, high-stakes techno-thriller & present-day dystopia. The Silent Thread will leave you questioning every message, every signal, and every truth.

Reviews

""Took a chance on a genre I don't usually go for and was very pleasantly surprised. I found the characters engaging and the imagery vivid. Ending gave me goosebumps and left me wanting a sequel or prequel. Thought provoking - definitely would recommend."" ""Masnica cleverly plays with the anxieties some of us have with AI and the consequence of human greed to create a chilling, but palpable, world hitting too close to home."" ""Such a good read! The story was thrilling and linked to real life- v scary. Can't wait to read more from this author! When's the next book?"" ""Great read. Highly recommend!!""

Author Information

Born in Northampton, UK, Robert Masnica has always had a passion for storytelling. From a young age, he enjoyed writing, but the idea of pursuing it as a career seemed unrealistic. Encouraged to take a more conventional path, he studied Law at university and went on to work in several law firms. However, the rigid 9-to-5 lifestyle never suited him. Seeking a career with more freedom and fulfillment, Rob transitioned into becoming a driving instructor-a profession he remains passionate about to this day, helping people in and around Margate in Kent achieve their dream of driving. Despite finding success in this role, the urge to create never faded. At 31, he finally released his debut novel, The Silent Thread, a unique and thought-provoking story influenced by George Orwell and Charlie Brooker. Now, Rob dedicates part of his time to developing new stories across various genres, constantly brainstorming, researching, and bringing new characters to life. While he sometimes wishes he had started sooner, he is now fully committed to his writing journey.
