The Silent Cry Beneath the Sea Story of Titanic

Overview

pThe Titanic was one of the largest and most elegant ships of its time. Built in Belfast between 1909 and 1912, it belonged to the White Star Line and was admired for its advanced technology. Many believed it could never sink because of its strong steel design and modern safety features. The ship offered luxurious cabins, fine dining areas, electric lighting, and comforts that were rare during that era.On April 10, 1912, the Titanic set out on its first voyage from Southampton, traveling toward New York. It stopped briefly in France and Ireland before heading across the Atlantic. More than two thousand passengers and crew members were aboard, including wealthy travelers, families in the middle class, and hopeful immigrants seeking new opportunities.Late on the night of April 14, the ship struck an iceberg in the North Atlantic. The impact caused water to flood the lower parts of the ship, and it slowly began to go down. There were not enough lifeboats for everyone, and the confusion made the situation worse. About fifteen hundred people lost their lives, while only a little over seven hundred survived. In the early hours of April 15, 1912, the Titanic disappeared beneath the ocean. Today, it is remembered as a tragic event and a powerful reminder of the limits of human confidence and the importance of safety at sea.
