OverviewThe Signed English Schoolbook provides vocabulary for teachers and others who serve school-age children and adolescents and covers the full range of school activities. It also gives parents the language they need to be actively involved in their child's education. The chapters, arranged topically, cover areas such as thinking and learning, hearing loss, mathematics, social science, family and life experiences, play and sports, feelings, and health. By design, the vocabulary in the Schoolbook is largely different from The Signed English Starter, except for the overlap necessary to ensure continuity and completeness. The Schoolbook is structured to help users gain speed and smoothness in their use of signs with speech. It is a major addition to the Signed English series.
