OverviewWhile riding their motorcycles along the Shore Road, Frank and Joe Hardy, along with their pal Chet Morton, meet a local fisherman who has just had his car stolen. The three boys give chase, and further down the road find their chum, Jack Dodd, and his father being questioned by the police because a stolen car was found in their yard. The Hardy boys, of course, resolve to solve the case and clear their friend's name, as many other auto thefts have also taken place recently. They soon discover a band of tramps camping on the beach, a man named Gus Montrose who used to work for Mr. Dodd, and a group of fishermen sneaking around the woods at night. Although threatened by Dodd, thwarted at every turn to unravel the mystery of the car thefts, and using their own money to purchase and hide in the trunk of a ""bait car"", the boys enter the thieves' lair, encounter their armed adversaries, and solve the Shore Road Mystery! Dixon is a pen name used by a variety of authors writing for the classic series the Hardy Boys. The first and most well-known ""Franklin W. Dixon"" was Leslie McFarlane, a Canadian author who contributed nineteen of the first twenty-five books in the series. Other writers who have adopted the pseudonym include Christopher Lampton, John Button, Amy McFarlane, and Harriet Stratemeyer Adams. Jim Hodges began reading aloud in the second grade with a stirring rendition of Dick and Jane. He continued to volunteer to speak throughout his schooling years, performed as a newscaster while in the Navy, and participated in community theater groups. His wife, Monica, once asked what his dream job would be. He answered, ""I'd record books."" And so began Jim Hodges Audio Books, producing unabridged recordings of the G. A. Henty historical novels, children's books, Overtly Christian titles, and classic literature. Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
