Reviews

""...every night at dinner my 5-year-old shouts ""Fish book!"" and we read it together. She laughs at the pictures, repeats the Telugu lines after me, and begs for ""one more time, nanna!"" Watching her fall in love with the same story that I did... my heart is full."" ""...repeated ""Why?"" beautifully illustrates the age-old ""why-why"" problem-solving technique and carries a subtle spiritual depth."" ""This book introduces Yedu Chepala Katha... in a way that is engaging and accessible for today's children. While the story is well known in South Indian culture, it will feel fresh to readers from other regions and backgrounds."" ""The illustrations are absolutely gorgeous, bright and so lively - instantly took me back to my childhood."" ""Transforming a traditional oral tale into a compelling book is no small feat, and the author has done it with great respect, creativity, and clarity."" ""The author has thoughtfully preserved the essence of the original tale while presenting it in a format that young readers can easily enjoy."" ""Thank you for bringing our old tale back so beautifully! Highly recommended.""

Author Information

When I became a father, this was the story I told my son. I was sure that someone would have published it, so I searched everywhere! I found books for older children, but I couldn't find a single one for him. I made my father search all of Hyderabad, but he couldn't find any either. So, I decided that I had to publish this story that has been verbally passed down through generations. There are many such stories. They should be told and passed on to our future generations.
