According to scriptures, Jesus, the seed of the woman, has crushed the head of the serpent of old, the devil, but its body still moves as though it can still harm us. And oh, how we keep running away for our dear lives when the battle has already been won! More than two thousand years since Jesus died to erase our sins, and eternally protect us from the devil, we are still waging a war against an enemy who continues to know just how to convince us to do wrong. The devil has been defeated, yet we still allow him access into our lives. In the new book The Serpent in the Midst, author Lucy Julius explores the lessons God was imparting to not just Adam and Eve, but their descendants from Cain and Abel on to the current generation. their methods to obtain these were distorted by Satan through the serpent. Instead of looking towards God for answers, Adam and Eve sought answers for themselves. This continued for their descendants until Jesus overcame sin with His death, and showed the devil that the truest answers to life's questions can only be found through the Heavenly Father. When I look all around me, I see Satan has been crushed, defeated. He is now no longer the monster they told us he is. He lost it all, right there on the Calvary tree where the seed of the woman, Jesus Christ, crushed his head, and thus conquered him.
