In grade school, I was required, as part of my Bible class curriculum, to memorize and write out the Sermon on the Mount in its fullness. This Sermon, being what is perhaps Jesus' central message in His ministry, drives home what Jesus would have us to do and be. The beauty of the Sermon on the Mount is the eloquence with which Jesus speaks, but far above that is the truth of the doctrine found therein. Our Lord Jesus speaks to us regarding Who He is and what He does, and who we are to be in light of that.
