Olga Paskalenko has spent the vast majority of her life inadvertently avoiding all things creative and instead going a much more pragmatic path in both education and career. Having studied software engineering and worked as a computer programmer, business analyst, and business manager for large corporations, she decided to put her dysfunctional love affair with SQL and Excel on hold and dip her toes into writing children's books. While awaiting the birth of her first child, she realized the importance of balancing her life's work with projects for sheer fun and pleasure, and thus was born her first title The Selfish Elf. She lives with her husband and two retrievers in the Isle of Man, a tiny little-known island in the Irish Sea.
