I read it hoping to find a book helpful for autistic teens (which it certainly is) but it really taught me something too... This book is fantastic and resourceful for all. I'm autistic and it was nice to read and see that I have similar problems. Also it is good resource for everyone wanting to understand those of us who have autism. Reading this I entered the authors world and everyday problems of the life with autism. Anyone with an interest in autism needs to read this book. It is a well written personal account explaining the way this individual experiences the world and what he does to help himself. As someone who is on the Spectrum, I am usually weary when it comes to buying books about Autism, as I've found some to be less than helpful. Where should I start with Callum Knight's The Secrets of My Spectrum ...? Absolutely FANTASTIC! I couldn't put the book down & finished in within an evening (not like me). The book is broken down into easy to read & short chapters, making it great to refer to when needed. While reading, I kept thinking to myself 'This is me. I had this experience.' Brilliantly written! I have since shared this with friends & colleagues. I CAN'T WAIT for Callum's next book! What a star!: ) I think if I had been given this book as a teenager, I'd have discovered I am autistic a lot sooner and potentially saved a lot of stress and unhappiness. Having read it now as a recently diagnosed adult, I feel more acceptance of myself. I relate strongly to so much that is written and that is a good feeling. This deserves to be widely read.
