She studied Asian art history at university, worked at a translation agency in Paris, then it was off to India to open an export business. She is an experienced scriptwriter, and her research has taken her around the world. Her latest novel is The Secret War of Julia Child. Candace Joice has been devoted to storytelling since she was a child-first as an avid reader, next as a movie watcher, and finally in her first stage role as a duckling.
