OverviewThere's something strange going on at the city zoo. During the day, people come to watch the animals play at the City Zoo. Elephants trumpet, hippos bathe, monkeys climb, and snakes slither. but once the zoo closes and the sun goes down, something magical happens. The animals from all over the zoo leave their cages and trees and head toward the concert hall, instruments in hand. Every night under the stars, the Emporer Conductor raises his baton, and the secret symphony plays while the rest of the animals listen and cheer. Music fills the air, and the strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussions instruments all play together. Once the concert is over, the audience gives a standing ovation. But will they make it back to their places before the sun rises and the people come back? This book is a great way to introduce c children to the orchestra and its instrument families.
