OverviewWe hear a great deal about sex, mostly about younger people under forty. Meanwhile, a vast and growing group is quietly excluded from the conversation. Older women, it seems, are expected to slip into a polite kind of invisibility. There are nearly 400 million women over the age of 65 worldwide, and yet their intimate lives remain largely unexamined. Is it because sex in later life is taboo? Or because it is assumed that older women simply lose interest? They do not. But their desire has become a secret-one rarely shared, even among friends. This book exists to break that silence. With never before told stories from real women. Women who have lived full, complex lives-through marriage and divorce, widowhood and new love, illness, abstinence, affairs, and rediscovery. Some spent years without sex; others became more adventurous once long relationships ended. Some had affairs. What unites them is not recklessness, but honesty-and a quietly radical acceptance of their own sexuality.
