The Secret of the Oceans: Alea Aquarius 3

Overview

Dive into the international bestselling ecological fantasy where a young girl unravels her mysterious heritage—she is a descendant of the Sea People, beings who command the ocean's depths and transform into mermaids. A powerful tingling sensation spread through her whole body, flooding from her head to her toes like a raging tsunami. She wished more than anything that the world beneath the waves would awaken to new life. Could she be the one to make this dream reality? Alea has a dream: she wants to bring all the merchildren scattered around the world back to the ocean. But how is she supposed to bring the extinct underwater world back to life if no one besides her and Lennox else can survive in the contaminated water? The Alpha Cru sets course for Iceland, where they have heard that there are still surviving merpeople living in the hot springs. There Alea wants to finally find her father – and the answers to all her pressing questions. Can Alea's father help her make her dream come true? Answers await in the third volume of the great mer-girl Saga from bestselling author Tanya Stewner.

Reviews

""After the first two volumes, I was totally hooked and I could hardly wait to finally hoist the sails and sail off into the next adventure with the very likeable, chaotic and humorous Alpha Cru! Now that I have finished the third volume, I am even more excited because this volume seems almost impossible to top! The author has put so much heart and soul into it, which you can clearly feel in every chapter."" -- Sabrina * Goodreads * ""This was my favorite book in the whole series! Everything was well planned, the story was excellent and mysterious how all the pieces of the puzzle slowly came together. I was really scared of Doctor Orion when we finally got to know more about him in this book. The story was really exciting and this book was the reason why this series is still continuing. Tanya Stewner is a fantastic author."" -- Leila * Goodreads * ""Fascinating, magical and unbelievable - the new adventure of the Alpha Cru captivated me from the start."" -- Nicky Mohini * Goodreads *

Author Information

With Tanya Stewner and books, it wasn't love at first sight. After her elementary school teacher said that Tanya would probably never learn to read and write properly, it was at the age of ten that Tanya discovered her passion for writing. From that point on, the stories just started to flow. Stewner studied literature and worked as a translator and editor for several years. She now devotes herself entirely to her writing. Her children's book series, especially Alea Aquarius, are huge successes both in Germany and internationally. Matthew O. Anderson grew up in the sunny, sleepy town of Sequim, WA. As a young reader he devoured books of all kinds but was especially drawn to fantasy and myth. His favorites were Homer’s Odyssey, J. R. R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit, and J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series. As an adult, he continues to explore these and similar stories as a scholar and fan. Matthew currently teaches courses on German language and culture at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN, and has published articles on historical German youth adventure literature. His translation of Andreas Steinhöfel’s If My Moon Was Your Sun won the 2016 German Book Office’s Translation Competition. Although he has spent three years studying and working in Germany, he is still searching for an American bakery that can recreate the perfect Vollkornbrot. Like Alea, Matthew is drawn to the water – the awe-inspiring, thunderous crash of the Pacific Ocean, the gleeful gurgle of the Black Forest’s babbling brooks, or the sight of a blustery autumn breeze billowing across the smooth surface of Lake Superior. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, baking, travelling, and reading.
