Reviews

This book is an interesting approach to teaching preschoolers and kindergarteners the alphabet. The protagonist is a little boy named Liam who is enjoying a day at the beach with his parents. Liam is a curious and inquisitive child who enjoys collecting seashells on the beach... It will be a learning adventure for young readers. Barbara Mojica In a charming manner Ofra introduces young Liam and his parents out for a walk along the beach. Liam discovers a chest that has washed ashore - a chest that when opened reveals the letter A and addresses Liam Hello, little boy My name is A. But A is sad because little A appears to be lost. A and Liam explore the variations of the letter A and soon the chest containing Little a washes ashore and Big A explains to Liam that she belongs to a trains of 26 cars - and guess what is in the cars of the alphabet train! This is not only a fine little story with many opportunities to expand the mind, but it is a clever way to introduce children to the letters of the alphabet. We look forward to the entire series! Highly Recommended. Grady Harp, July 18 Ofra Peled has published an interesting series that will help children learn the ABCs. This is the first book in the series. It introduces children to the large A and the small a. The story will enchant children and teach them the two letters in a memorable way, a story that is reinforced by charming illustrations by Joyeeta Neogi. The story is about Liam who likes to stroll on the beach with his parents. One day, while at the beach, a large wave sweeps a huge chest to the shore. When Liam and his parents open the chest, they are surprised to find Large A in it. Large A is sad because her chest had been attached to another chest containing Small a. Liam and Large A discuss how she looks and the looks of Small a. This discussion as well as what happens next in the story will help children learn and remember the two letters. Israel Drazin
