Clancy, senior lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the University of East Anglia, has written a very accessible guide to its anatomy and physiology. Starting at the cellular level, he proceeds through each organ system, explaining its structure and function in simple language. Color illustrations and photographs augment the text. He includes interesting trivia, such as the volume of circulating cerebrospinal fluid and the size of gallstones. Readers should have no problem with the author's use of British spelling. This is an excellent resource for school, public, and consumer-health libraries.--Barbara Bibel ""Booklist"" (12/1/2018 12:00:00 AM)" Exceptionally informative, impressively well written, organized and presented, packed with illustrations and useful diagrams, The Secret Life of the Human Body is extraordinarily 'reader friendly' and will prove to be a welcome and enduringly popular addition to personal, school, and community library Human Biology collections and supplemental studies reading lists. --Julie Midwest Book Review (10/01/2018) The human body is a fascinating, complex mechanism.
