He has been recognized in Who's Who in America and in Men of Achievement. He maintains involvement in the CIA through membership in the Central Intelligence Retirees Association and the Association of Former Intelligence Officers. Working as an analyst, covert action officer, manager, and public affairs officer, Mickolus spent the majority of his career with the CIA and founded their comedy club. He now teaches intelligence issues for federal agencies. He enjoys performing stand-up comedy and has been recognized for his political wit by the Washington Post, frequently ranking in their comedy Style Invitational.
