Ray Haney grew up in Los Angeles, CA. In High school Ray played football and was a member of the Squires Club. From high school he joined the Air Force and fought in the Korean War. When he returned he attended the University of California and was a member of the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity. While at USC he met his wife Gail Johnson, whom he was happily married to for 52 years. He was an Engineer at Lockheed Skunk works. He belonged to many organizations, like the DeMolay and the Masons. He was active in his church as a Deacon. While he was active in many organizations, his favorite was with the Boy Scouts. He was Scoutmaster of Troop 191 in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles County from 1970 to 1986. All three of his sons became Eagle Scouts, and Ray received the highest honor, the Silver Beaver Award. His daughter was active in the High Adventure Explorer Post. Ray loved to get to know people. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and friends. He loved to laugh and kid everyone. His favorite thing to do was spending time with his wife, children, six Grandchildren, and many, many friends.
