Alice Wellborn has spent most of her life in public schools as a student, a parent, a volunteer, and a school psychologist. She is a nationally certified school psychologist through the National Association of School Psychologists and a licensed psychological associate through the North Carolina State Psychology Board. She has been active in the North Carolina School Psychology Association for many years. Alice participated in writing a position paper on High Stakes Testing, and she was a major contributor to a position paper on Grade Retention. Alice was awarded a NCSPA Presidential Award of Honor in 2002 for her advocacy on behalf of children. Currently, Alice serves as the Education Specialist at FlyLady. She writes weekly blog posts on FlyLady.net and SchoolSavvyParents.com, and a bi-monthly article on topics related to public school for her local newspaper. She posts questions and comments about education and parenting on her Facebook page, No More Parents Left Behind. Alice believes that strong parent/teacher partnerships are a vital part of effective public education.
