"The saints have forever intrigued me since I was a small child with their strength, faithfulness and their Christian beliefs and multiple sacrifices. How truly compelling, interesting and fascinating were the lives of the saints. What an inspiration they are in our daily lives to be able to read about their battle for Christianity against Paganism. The saints would desire that we be inspired by their perseverance to live a holy and devotional life, while sacrificing earthly pleasures; thus having a life devoted to following in the footsteps of God. Saints were the followers of Jesus they adored him and committed themselves totally to his message. They were the key players historically, socially and politically of the religion of Western Civilization. It was due to their resilience that most of their stories have existed for thousands of years. We have heard their names many times over again.........Saint Paul, Saint Peter and Saint Nicholas.......yes one in the same, Santa Clause, but what do we know about him or the other saints? Saint Nicholas is more than a ""robust"" man going from roof top to roof top in his iconic red suit. Devotion to the saints is worldwide but who would believe we have saints in our midst here on the Central Coast of California. Their story, told in ""THE SAINTS of SAN SIMEON"" (on the Central Coast of California) is about these sweet little gems. They are often overlooked by visitors at Hearst San Simeon State Historical Monument, in San Simeon, California. They absolutely cast their enchanting incredible spell on me, so I decided to research their existence and share it with you, to tell you who they are, how they lived and what led to their martyrdom.
