Table of ContentsReviews...this authoritative, two-volume work is the first encyclopedia to trace the evolution of theory in counseling and psychotherapy. ...The focus on theory makes this work unique. It complements broader works like the APA Handbook of Counseling Psychology, ed. by Nadya A. Fouad et al. (CH, Dec'12, 50-2364). Especially helpful for undergraduates, each of the 20 general categories/schools listed in the reader's guide has an overview entry in the encyclopedia. Also useful is the well-written, informative introduction, in which Neukrug differentiates counseling from psychotherapy and clarifies the meaning of theory in the context of the material covered in the encyclopedia. ... this set is a must-have for libraries supporting programs in counseling or clinical psychology. ...Summing Up: Essential. Lower-level undergraduates and above; professionals/practitioners. -- N. Nero CHOICE Author InformationBorn and raised in New York City, Dr. Edward S.
