Overview

THE RYO LODGE is an outrageous comedy/drama that takes place in 1969 in the sleepy, yet strange town of Cowchip Alabama. It is the story of a criminal with a dream, driven from his lair in Tennessee, who winds up in old Cowchip town. This character driven story of one criminal's desire to rule them all is so rich in characters and description that you'll wonder if Cowchip is real...and you wouldn't be the first. The hero, Norm, (No relation to the author) who himself is a Yankee, comes to Cowchip in the dead of the night and sets about to build the greatest crime organization the world has ever known using native southern talent with a little help from mercenaries from all over. His plan? Own and operate a so called hunting lodge deep in the woods. Bring in rich and powerful Yankees and fleece them.Oh, but there is more. There is the Cowchip Grape Stomp Festival of the Three Virgins ceremony. Jenny, the love interest. Spud Mashborn, the second in command. Murt, the official Huntmaster, and of course, Drawers, failed man killer and consummate hot dog chef. And lest we forget, a smelly old one legged fiddle player named Mutt Matthews. And that's just for starters!Watch for Sheriff Randy Richards who threatens the whole operation. And then there is the deadly...gallinippers. You'll love them. Ouch!A monstrous cast of loveable and deadly characters supports this major novel of the new south of 1969 just as man is walking on the moon. This is one you'll be singing about to your friends and neighbors, because you won't be able to get it out of your head!Guaranteed to delight, or when you visit THE RYO LODGE your first piece of Norm's No Crap All You Can Eat Chitlin Pizza is on the house.About seven seconds after you finish this book you'll be SCREAMING for more! Purchase it. Tell all your friends to grab a copy, and then there will be more! The fate of all of your new friends in Cowchip Alabama rests in your hands!

Author Information

Discover the fantastic world of Cowchip/AL and the RYO Corporation. Grab a free copy of MANAGEMENT DECISION and if you like it read my other hilarious Cowchip/AL tales! Norman E. Morrison (1955- ) is a born writer. He has lived the life of a writer, amassing a great deal of experiences through his various jobs. He has worked as a warehouseman unloading boxcars, he is a failed insurance salesman, a journeyman electrician, worked in television for a decade and a half, was a reluctant telephone operator, and an early Internet marketing entrepreneur. At one time he was a man of two continents, when he developed and sold Brazil travel packages with his start-up company. Always a man to study, log, and catalog the human species, Morrison has a great many stories to tell, often in a fantastical, humorous, satirical manner that puts his stranger than life characters in even stranger situations. WHY I DO COWCHIP and WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU I write my Cowchip Alabama stories in a humorous way to illustrate the very things that we as good people ought not to do. It is a sort of reverse logic that strives to entice the reader to do some of the work to get the point. For those who get it the tales really come alive. Some writers are strictly for the money, and these I dismiss. The ones who actually believe in the things they write, who have a story to tell gleaned from their experience or from their innermost feelings...These are the ones that I find worth reading. An example of a good story plus marketing is Harry Potter. First, it is a morality tale. The smart marketing came later. Mark Twain stories are an example of good tales succeeding even without good marketing. Of the two, the Twain stores are the ones that I, as a writer, would rather strive for. I love marketing. This note is a form of marketing. However, when I began my life's ambition to write my silly Cowchip tales I set marketing aside. I write because I have something to say...Not because I have something to sell. My greatest reward is in presenting a series of Cowchip adventures that gives my readers a fun, challenging experience, while at the same time teaching life's lessons in a humorous way. It's also a 50/50 split. I want my readers to have to dig a bit to discover the inner meanings in my stories. And finally, real success in my book, is having written a tale that makes a point the reader will remember long after. That is why I write. Best Wishes!
